Heli package 01 — The Classic
A week in a motor home at the heart of it.
Our Classic is exactly that. When heli skiing started in Alaska, it started at the same heli port we operate from today, right in the middle of Thompson Pass.
This gives you the rare thing: a week surrounded by glaciers and giant mountains, living at the heart and soul of Alaskan heli skiing, in a warm and comfortable motor home. Magpies, at our heli base, does week-long meal packages with breakfast, lunch and dinner, and daily meals too.

Heli package 02 — The Inclusive
Nights in town, days on the pass, nothing to organise.
For guests who would rather sleep in Valdez and travel up to the heli port each day. Comfortable accommodation with a private kitchen and washer/dryer, near the harbour and surrounded by bars and restaurants.

- Deluxe accommodation at the Totem Inn in Valdez
- Sit-down breakfast at the Totem Inn restaurant

Touring camp
Seven days camped on a glacier.
Hands down one of the best ways to experience this range: camp on a glacier surrounded by lines for a week, and earn every one of them. Six nights, flown in and flown out.
- 6 nights lodging and all meals
- Two guides and one camp chef
- One helicopter drop-off and one helicopter pickup
- Ground transport in Valdez during your stay
- Safety gear if needed: beacon, shovel, probe, harness
If weather stops us reaching the remote camp, we use the endless terrain accessible directly from the Richardson Highway, and we may be able to arrange single-day helicopter, snowmobile or plane-assisted touring instead. If you cannot get to the remote camp at all, you get a $500 ASG credit toward your next week-long package, good for two seasons.

Snowmobile
A fleet of Ski-Doo Summit 850s and somewhere absurd to ride them.
Learn to ride, sharpen your technique, or go for an adventure in the Chugach. Good for down days, and good on its own. All the trip-planning advice on this site applies to a snowmobile trip too — travel, gear, insurance.
Learn to ride — $200
Ninety minutes of customised instruction on our Ski-Doo fleet, for everyone from first-timers to experienced intermediates. Great riding, amazing scenery, and a way to enjoy a down day nearly as much as a bluebird one.
Advanced technique clinic — $200
Ninety minutes on Summit 850s. Your guide assesses your riding, talks through your goals, and works on technique to get you to the next level.
Half-day guided adventure — $500
Once you have done the learn-to-ride programme you can sign up for this. Get out into the range and explore places you would not expect to reach on a sled.
Sled ski day — $750
Sled access to terrain, with a guide. Private single-day and week-long snowmobile packages are available on request — call or email for details.
Snowmobile packages are limited to four guests per week with a two-to-one client-to-guide ratio. We suggest coming in groups of two to four.

Private charters
The ultimate version of this trip, and the right option for individuals and small groups who know exactly what they want. A private charter gives you the best shot at riding precisely the terrain you came for. Competitive flight-time rates, and guides with decades in the Chugach.
Film crews
We have worked with at least one major film crew every season since we started. A few shots in golden hour, a full segment, or a short series — we will work to just about any budget to maximise your efficiency, keep your crew safe and get the shots.
